Martin Luther King

For more than twenty years, Media Fellowship House has organized a community wide celebration to honor the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King. Usually held at The First United Methodist Church of Media on the Sunday before the holiday, this celebration brings together a vast network of people and organizations with the primary goal of honoring this American icon and continuing to spread his message.

Keynote speakers from across the country join us each year to discuss Dr. King’s life and how we as a community can work to achieve his dream. Notable men and women like Julian Bond, Ruby Dee and Arturo Bagley (Dr. King’s nephew) as well as local speakers and politicians such as Congressman Joe Sestak, Annette John-Hall of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Dr. John Alston of the Chester Children’s Chorus have all come out to help spread the message for which Dr. King died.
